Dr. Melanie Ujlaky DNP, PMHNP-BC

Dr. Melanie Ujlaky is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing thoughtful, patient-centered psychiatric care. With a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and a diverse clinical background, she offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management grounded in collaboration, respect, and careful assessment.

Melanie’s approach is individualized and holistic. She believes in meeting each client exactly where they are, taking the time to fully understand their experiences before assigning diagnoses or recommending treatment. Rather than rushing to label concerns, she prioritizes asking thorough questions, listening carefully, and identifying the root causes of symptoms. Her treatment style is conservative and intentional, with a strong emphasis on lifestyle foundations such as sleep, movement, stress management, and overall wellness. When medication is recommended, it is approached as a supportive tool within a broader, well-rounded plan of care.

Collaboration is central to her work. Melanie ensures that clients feel informed and empowered in their treatment decisions, providing space to think through options and move at a pace that feels comfortable. When working with children and adolescents, she values building strong rapport and partners closely with parents to create a supportive, unified approach.

She works with children, adolescents, and adults up to approximately age 65, and she especially enjoys working with college-aged women and individuals navigating the unique challenges of perimenopause. Her clinical experience includes treating depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma-related concerns, ADHD, mood disorders, and personality-related patterns.

Melanie’s nursing career spans a wide range of settings, giving her a unique ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life. She began her career in emergency nursing, including experience in behavioral health units, where she developed strong assessment skills and clinical discernment. She has also worked in teaching and home health settings, provided telemedicine services for TRICARE beneficiaries, and practiced aesthetic nursing. This versatility allows her to approach psychiatric care with both clinical depth and practical understanding of the full healthcare system.

As a bilingual provider fluent in both English and Spanish, Melanie is committed to making care accessible and culturally responsive.

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys baking, strength training, spending time outdoors, traveling, listening to true crime podcasts, and making memories with her family.
