You’re Overwhelmed. Exhausted. At Your Breaking Point.

You’ve been carrying too much for too long. Every day feels like a battle, and you’re running on empty. Maybe a loved one suggested therapy, or you’ve heard people say: “I don’t know how you’re doing this without help.” Deep down, you know something must change.

You might be feeling:

  • Worn down by finances, relationships, caregiving, or family stress.
  • Stuck in cycles of anxiety, depression, or mood swings that won’t let up.
  • Completely depleted—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
  • Holding in thoughts of hopelessness, afraid to say them out loud.
  • Like you’ve exhausted your support system and need more help.

I see you. I don’t back down from the hard stuff, and I don’t give up on people. You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s start where you are and work toward something better—together.

Meet Dr. Ameena “Dr. K” Kemavor

With nearly 30 years of experience in behavioral health, Dr. K has worked across almost every sector of the field. She holds a bachelor’s in psychology, a master’s in clinical counseling, and a doctorate in counselor education and supervision. But beyond the credentials, she gets it—she has lived with mental illness for 26 years and has never missed a counseling appointment. She knows what it means to show up for yourself, even when it’s hard.
Dr. K is honest, transparent, and passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health. She has the heart of a teacher, helping clients understand their symptoms and illness so they can take meaningful steps toward healing. If faith is important to you, Dr. K. offers faith-based counseling for all faiths and can incorporate her experience as a Christian-based counselor if desired.

Dr. K blends Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed techniques to meet you where you are. For those struggling with suicidal thoughts, Dr. K doesn’t shy away—she leans in. She uses the Collaborative Assessment for Managing Suicidality (CAMS) to create a safe, structured plan that works with you, not for you.
Dr. K.’s clinical experience working with diverse racial/ethnic populations is extensive. She values cultural understanding, using the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI) to explore how your background, beliefs, and experiences shape your mental health. Her goal is to provide care that truly reflects who you are and what you need.

What Therapy with Dr. K Feels Like

  • Honest & Transparent: No sugarcoating—understanding your mental health is the first step to healing.

  • Practical Tools & Resources: Dr. K provides visuals and hands-on strategies, so you leave each session with real, actionable steps.
  • Spirituality (If You Choose): Faith can be part of therapy—or not. It’s up to you.

Dr. K keeps it real, helps you understand yourself, and gives you the tools to take back control of your life.
