I currently specialize in grief and loss which can come in many forms. Loss of a loved one, a career, a child moving to college, physical changes to the body and anything that changes ones personal identity can all be consider a form of loss. When these things happen, we grieve the loss and we move through a period of mourning to heal. During therapy, we move through this mourning process together and work to honor what was and work to embrace the new life that is to come. I have a unique background as I have worked as a therapist for seven years and also have extensive experience working with hospice patients and their families which has given me experience with many variations of grief and loss.

What are your specialties and how are you different from other therapists?

Anytime we experience loss we are changed; maybe a little and sometimes a lot. I work to inspire hope in my clients by assisting them in the understanding that we gain knowledge, wisdom and strength from the trials in life. If a client can work through the difficulties with a caring professional, they can come out on the other side with more confidence in themselves while embracing the new life ahead of them.

How do you inspire hope in your clients?

How do you find balance and care for yourself?

Balance and self care is extremely important for a healthy balanced life. Personally, I like to hike, bike and garden; being in nature is soothing for me. I also enjoy socializing with friends and family and the ocean is one of my closest friends. Staying active and also taking time for quiet reflection is how I find a healthy balance in life.
